How to set up Google Analytics account
If you are a blogger, and you want to find out where the traffic coming to your website is coming from and how long it is coming. To know this, you have to create your account of google analytics, that is, you have to connect your website to google analytics.
With the help of Google Analytics, you can see where people are coming to your website, and how long they have stayed on your site. He is taking an interest in reading which of your posts.
Set up Google Analytics account
We will set up Google Analytics account step by step.
Step 1
First of all, we have to search Google Analytics on Google.
Step 2
After searching Google Analytics, Google Analytics will be the first site on Google. Now, this site has to be opened.
Step 3
After opening the site, you will first have the option to log in with the email id. So you have to log in here by entering your email id and password.
Step 4
Now a window will open in front of you. Which will have ‘set up for free’ written right in the middle. Now we have to click on set up for free.
Step 5
Now you will have an option in which you will have to write your account name. You can also type your name in the account name.
After typing the account name, the next will be written on the bottom side. Now we have to go to the next option by clicking on next.
Step 6
After clicking Next, we will have three options. Web, Apps, Apps, and web. Because we are blogging, so we will only trim the Web option from these.
After selecting the Web, the next option will come down below which we have to click on.
Step 7
Now we have to write the name of our website here first. Then in the second option, we have to enter the URL of our website. If the URL of your website is https://techaudhary.com, then you only have to enter techaudhary.com from it. After this, you have to like your industry category here. And finally, you have to sort your time zone. After filling all these options, you have to click on create.
After this, the terms of service of Google analytics will be written in front of you. After selecting these terms of service, you have to click on I accept.
Now a tracking code will appear in a box in front of you. Now we will copy this code and now we paste it in our WordPress.
How to paste Google Analytics tracking code into WordPress
Step 1
To paste the code of Google Analytics into our WordPress, the first thing we need to do is open our WordPress. After playing WordPress we have to go to the plugin and click on add new.
Step 2
After clicking on Add new a window will open. There will be search option in this window. In which we have to search Google Analytics.
After this, some plugin will come down. From which we have to activate after installing the plugin of Google Analytics.
Step 3
Now we have to install another plugin. So now we will go to the search option by clicking on Add new plugin again. Now we will search the Insert header and footer here. We will see this plugin first. Now we will install and activate this plugin too.
Step 4
Now we will click on the setting of WordPress. Some options will appear inside the setting, one of which will be Insert header and footer. Now we will open it by clicking on it.
Step 5
After opening the insert header and footer, we will have three boxes in front of us.
- Scripts in Header
- Scripts in Body
- Scripts in Footer
The tracking code that we had copied from Google Analytics, we will now paste it into Scripts in Header.
After pasting the code, save at the bottom will be an option. We will save it by clicking on it.
Now finally ‘connect exact metrics and setup website analytics’ will be written on the WordPress Dashboard. By clicking on it, we have to verify our email id, from which we created our Google Analytics account. After this, some terms of conditions will come here, by which our Google Analytics setup will be completed.
